Why Dance Levels Matter
Dance levels exist to create the best learning experience for everyone. They help place students in classes where the material matches their experience, allowing you to progress safely, build strong fundamentals, and feel confident on the dance floor. Choosing the right level ensures steady improvement, better partner connection, and more enjoyment in every class.

Salsa Latina Levels

Level 1 – New Beginner
For those completely new to the dance style, usually with little to no dance experience. We recommend starting here to learn the basics in a supportive environment.

Level 1 – Beginner
For students who have been dancing consistently for less than two months or have not yet completed an 8-week Level 1 course. This level focuses on building strong foundations. Dancers from other styles may also start here and often progress quickly.

Level 1/2 – Improver
For dancers who are continuing to strengthen their basics. Many students at this level repeat Level 1 and Level 2 material. Progress comes through practice, repetition, and refining fundamental skills.

Level 2/3 – Intermediate
Typically for dancers with 6–24 months of regular training who have a solid understanding of Level 2 fundamentals. This level bridges Improver and Intermediate, developing greater confidence, timing, and partnerwork. Many dancers spend a significant amount of time here.

Level 3/4 – Advanced
For dancers with around 1-5 years of consistent training who have strong fundamentals, emerging musicality, and improving body movement. This level includes complex partnerwork, shines, and refined lead and follow skills. Dancers have good balance and can confidently execute double spins. Many dancers remain at this level for several years even if fully training every week.

Level 5 – Advanced Plus - Master
Achieved through dedication and typically 3-10 years of consistent training. Dancers at this level often continue revisiting lower-level material to perfect technique. They can comfortably dance with partners of any level, adapt their lead or follow with ease, demonstrate excellent musicality and body movement, maintain strong balance, and perform triple spins with confidence.

Open Level (All Levels)
Generally suitable for Improver through Advanced dancers. Beginners who have prior dance training in other styles are also welcome, even if they are new to this specific dance style.

Amateur or Professional?

What is My level?
We have created a comprehensive flowchart to help Bachata and Salsa students assess their skill levels and guide them on their journey to improvement in these dance styles & to help understand our levels, because each school will vary. Generally we recommend to go down one level than you might expect. It's always better for the teacher to suggest a higher level.

Salsa Latina
System & Syllabus
The Salsa Latina Method

Warm-up, Footwork & Shines
Each class starts with a warm-up and Salsa footwork (shines). These develop timing, balance, coordination, musicality, and personal style. Our syllabus includes a wide collection of styles built up over 25 years.
Partnerwork
After footwork, we move into partnerwork. We start with the fundamentals—your building blocks for all turn patterns and combinations. Think of it like constructing a house: a solid foundation allows you to progress quickly and confidently. Our program follows a clear, structured path, advancing step by step rather than teaching random “moves of the week.”
Both teachers are full engaged in teaching rather than one teacher and a helper. This means you get a fully balanced lead and followers learning equally.

Modules:
Modules are in 6-week sections covering different dance styles and topics. As you progress, more modules at each level become available. When you finish a module, a new one at the same level—or above—opens for you to join.

-
Level 1 : 1 module (101, 6 weeks)
-
Level 2: 5 modules (201–205, 30 weeks)
-
Level 3: 8 modules (301–308, 48 weeks)
-
Level 4: 24 modules (401–424, 2 years)

Modules within a level are all the same difficulty; numbering only distinguishes topics. For example, modules 202 and 204 are both Level 2 content. Completing all modules at your current level allows you to move up.
This structure lets you join multiple classes per week and progress faster. Modules are labeled on the timetable so you can track what you’re learning.

Salsa Dance Class
Syllabus & Style

We Teach:
Salsa Porto On1 (Puerto Rican) and Salsa New York On2 which are closely linked.
Salsa Puerto On1 is a smooth, elegant style of salsa danced “on1” that is closely connected to New York–style roots. It blends classic salsa technique with flowing partner work, strong fundamentals, musical expression, and controlled turns. This style focuses on connection, timing, and clean movement — perfect for dancers who enjoy structure, musicality, and a traditional salsa feel with modern energy on easy beats.

Salsa New York On2 is a refined, musical style of salsa danced “on2,” breaking on the second beat, which highlights the natural rhythms of the music. It emphasizes connection, precision, body control, and sophisticated partner work. This style is grounded and expressive — ideal for dancers who love musical depth, smooth flow, and dancing in harmony with the music.
Our unique Salsa Latina Foundation System is based on modern linear Salsa fundamentals, refined through inspiration from some of the world’s top Salsa dancers. Rooted in New York principles, our style blends influences from Puerto Rican, LA, Spanish, Cuban, and Afro traditions—shaping what’s known as Porto and New York Style.
We specialise in both Portorican On1 (Salsa) and NY On2 (Mambo), focusing on improvised, social street Salsa where strong leading and following are key. Every move is taught to be both leadable and followable, so you can dance confidently with anyone.

Bachata Dance Class Syllabus & Style

Our system is built on modern Bachata fundamentals, using the Salsa Latina Foundation System, which began in New Zealand and is now new to Cyprus. It has been carefully developed and refined with guidance from some of the world’s top Bachata dancers over 18 years.
We specialise in Bachata Moderna, it's improvised freestyle street-style Bachata across Dominican, Traditional & Fusion which includes Moderna & Sensual styles. Strong leading and following are central—if a move can’t be properly led or followed, we don’t teach it. Many Latin dance schools overlook this, but it’s at the core of our approach.
