What is Bachata?

Bachata began in the Caribbean and grew across Latin America and Europe into a modern, social freestyle dance (not choreographed). It’s the second most popular partner dance worldwide after Salsa, and you can dance it anywhere with anyone. Bachata is one of the easiest partner styles to learn, making it a fun way to stay fit and meet new people—we believe anyone can learn it! ... should you start with Salsa or Bachata? ... read more >

Bachata Level 1

• Bachata Style: Traditional

• 1 Modules :101
• Content: Partnerwork Fundamentals & Footwork Basics
• Fast Track Course: 4 Weeks total

• Level: Perfect for absolute beginners, newcomers to Bachata, or those revisiting the basics and fundamentals.

This is the ideal starting point if you haven’t learned within our system. The course focuses on core Latin dance principles with an emphasis on pure Bachata.

Our classes are progressive, so once you complete this level, you can move on to Bachata Level 2

Fast Track Course: Normally an 8 week course, but this version condenses the syllabus into fewer weeks. With a higher teacher-to-student ratio, you’ll learn faster.

Bachata Level 2

• Bachata Style: Traditional, Dominican & Fusion inc Moderna & Sensual
• 8 Modules: 201 - 208
• Course Length: 32 Weeks total
8 Modules x 4 week blocks

• Level:  For dancers who have completed Level 1 or are at an improver to intermediate level.

This is the natural next step, building on your Bachata fundamentals with new moves and combinations. Each 4-week module starts fresh, so it’s best to join at the beginning.

Modules explore different flavours and styles at the same level, allowing steady progress and flexibility to join multiple modules per week. Once you are at this level you can come in any week.

Bachata Level 3

• Bachata Style: Traditional, Dominican & Fusion inc Moderna & Sensual
12 Modules: 301 - 312
• Course Length: 48 Weeks total

= 12 Modules x 4 week blocks

• Level: For dancers who have completed Level 2, this stage bridges Intermediate to Upper Intermediate, moving toward Advanced.

To join, you should have completed all 8 Level 2 modules or already be an advanced Bachata dancer. You should also be comfortable with double spins and the shines from earlier levels.

Best Time to Start: Week 1 of a new module is ideal, as each begins with a fresh shine series. Once you are at this level you can come in any week.

Bachata Shines & Foundation Classes

Teacher: Miléna

Bachata Shines Open Level:

These footwork classes are for dancers with a solid grasp of fundamentals, offering the perfect chance to develop and challenge your skills. If you’re an absolute beginner we recommend learning the basics first either in regular classes or private lessons. You can still join – since it’s solo work, it won’t affect anyone else, so give it a try and have some fun!

The classes are open to both Men and Women, focusing on masculine and feminine movement. You’ll refine your footwork, body movement, and improve both solo and partner dancing, while building confidence with every step.
